Investor request
For listed companies: CDP sends the request on behalf of signatory investors.
The CDP climate questions ask for emissions by scope, the comparison with last year, your verification status and how you work with suppliers. Dcycle calculates that inventory from your invoices, keeps the source document behind every figure, and our team reviews the response with you before you submit it in the CDP portal.

2,000+ companies manage their sustainability data with Dcycle
The questionnaire is filled in on the CDP portal. What takes weeks is not writing the answers: it is gathering and justifying the data behind them.
Drag in the electricity, gas, fuel or water PDFs of each facility and Leia extracts the period, quantity and amount. Each invoice shows its confidence level field by field, and the PDF is stored as evidence next to the figure you will use in the climate module.
CDP asks how you work with your value chain. From the project you send the questionnaire to your suppliers, they answer it in the Dcycle supplier portal, and each card shows you whether it is not sent, pending, responded or expired.
The Control tab sums up how many data points are processed, pending review or still processing, and shows month by month which facility has uploaded its consumption and which has not. One click runs a pre-audit of the project data and you download the report.
The carbon footprint project dashboard splits your emissions into Scope 1, 2 and 3, compares them with the previous year and ranks them by category. You see the group consolidation or each company on its own, plus intensity per employee.
CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) is the most widely used environmental disclosure system in the world. It is voluntary, but when a customer or investor asks, not answering is a commercial decision.

public scoring scale
Four bands: Disclosure, Awareness, Management and Leadership.
For listed companies: CDP sends the request on behalf of signatory investors.
A customer in the programme asks you to respond. This is how most industrial, food and consumer goods suppliers meet CDP for the first time.
Any organisation can respond without being asked, to get a public score.
Since 2024 climate, water and forests sit in a single modular questionnaire. Only the modules that apply to you are activated, and CDP cross-checks figures between modules.
| Module | What it asks | Where the data comes from |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Introduction | Reporting year, currency, boundary, countries and value chain. | Your organisation and your inventory boundary. |
| 2. DIRO process | How you identify dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities. | Your risk management process. |
| 3. Risks and opportunities | Environmental risks and opportunities with their financial impact. | Climate risk analysis and finance. |
| 4. Governance | Board oversight, responsible roles and incentives. | Minutes, committees and internal policies. |
| 5. Strategy | Transition plan, scenario analysis and value chain engagement. | Your decarbonisation plan and your suppliers’ responses. |
| 7. Climate | Base year, Scope 1, 2 and 3, verification, year-on-year change, energy, intensity, targets and initiatives. | The Dcycle GHG inventory, its invoices and the verification statement. |
| 8. Forests | Exposure to commodities such as palm, soy, timber, cattle, cocoa, coffee and rubber. | Purchasing and supplier traceability. |
| 9. Water security | Water withdrawal, discharge and consumption by source and basin. | Water invoices and meter readings per facility. |
| 13. Sign-off | Further verification and the person who approves the response. | Leadership. |
The score mostly measures how you manage, evidence and disclose your data, not only how much you emit. Each band requires everything in the one below, and more.
You respond, but without showing management. Many buyers treat a D as almost the same as not responding.
Complete Scope 1 and 2 with primary data, a first Scope 3 screening and a basic risk assessment.
Scope 3 for material categories, verified Scope 1 and 2, targets with a base year and board oversight.
SBTi-validated targets, a transition plan with allocated capex, scenario analysis and measurable supplier results.
From the 2026 cycle an SME can reach A on climate. Until 2025 the ceiling was B.
Verifying the inventory, documenting Scope 3 category by category and quantifying the savings of each reduction initiative.
The 2026 cycle is closing. CDP has not published the 2027 dates yet: these are the 2026 ones, as a reference for planning.
| Milestone | 2026 date | What you should have |
|---|---|---|
| Questionnaire published | 27 April | The year’s inventory closed and verification contracted. |
| Portal opens | Week of 15 June | Draft answers, ready to upload. |
| Scoring deadline | Week of 14 September | A response reviewed and approved by leadership. |
| Portal closes | Week of 26 October | Anything submitted after 14 September is published but not scored. |
| Scores published | Late 2026 or early 2027 | A gap analysis for the next cycle. |
Calculated under the GHG Protocol from your invoices and activity data: the basis of the climate module.
Each consumption entry linked to its invoice or source document, so your verifier can trace it.
The same boundary and methodology year after year, so you can explain why your emissions changed.
Each facility and each group company contributes its data; you see the consolidation.
Send the questionnaire to your suppliers and track who has replied, for the value chain questions.
The same data serves the CSRD (ESRS E1), EcoVadis, ISO 14064 and UK SECR.
CDP is a global environmental disclosure system covering climate, water and forests. More and more buyers and investors ask for the CDP questionnaire to assess their suppliers and the companies they invest in. The response receives a public score from D- to A.
It is the request large buyers send to their suppliers through the CDP portal. It covers climate (energy, emissions, targets), water security and forests. If a customer sends it to you, you answer in the CDP portal within the same annual cycle as every other company.
Since 2024 it is a single modular questionnaire: introduction, the risk identification process (DIRO), risks and opportunities, governance, strategy, then the environmental themes: climate (module 7), forests (8), water (9), plastics (10) and biodiversity (11), with sign-off in module 13. Only the modules that apply to your company are activated.
Energy use by fuel type and facility, Scope 1 and 2 emissions in tonnes of CO2e, the relevant Scope 3 categories, the base year and the comparison with the previous year, verification status, your reduction targets and the initiatives with their estimated savings. In the demo we review what you have and what is missing.
That is the most common blocker. You upload invoices as they arrive from each supplier and Leia extracts the period, quantity and amount, with the confidence of each field. The PDF stays linked to the figure, and the Control tab shows you which facility and which month are missing.
Yes. The emissions inventory and energy data you prepare for CDP are the same ones the CSRD (ESRS E1) and EcoVadis ask for. Once they are in Dcycle you do not collect them again for each framework.
In the 2026 cycle the questionnaire was published on 27 April, the portal opened the week of 15 June, the scoring deadline was the week of 14 September and the portal closes the week of 26 October. CDP publishes the dates of each new cycle; it pays to have your inventory closed before the portal opens.
Dcycle collects the documents of each facility (electricity, gas, fuel and water invoices), Leia reads them, and the carbon footprint project calculates Scope 1, 2 and 3 under the GHG Protocol, per facility and per group company. For the value chain you send the questionnaire to your suppliers from the platform.
No. Answers are written and submitted in the CDP portal, and Dcycle has no questionnaire screen and no direct export to the portal. What Dcycle does is prepare and justify the data the answers rely on (inventory, comparison, evidence, suppliers), and our expert team reviews the response with you.
Yes, on the data side. Leia, Dcycle’s AI, reads your invoices field by field and helps you inside the GHG report editor. The wording of each answer is yours, with support from our team.
By hand, yes. With Dcycle you start from the data you already have and our team guides you step by step, so you can respond even in your first year. A typical first-cycle goal is a C, built on a solid Scope 1 and 2 inventory.
It depends on your data. The most time-consuming part is gathering and justifying the inventory; with your invoices in Dcycle you go from weeks of manual work to days, and next year’s inventory starts from the one you already have.
No. We work with your data inside the platform, hosted in Europe. We are ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant.
Yes. The same calculation serves the CSRD, ISO 14064 and UK SECR, so you do not repeat the work every year.
30 minutes: we look at what your customer or investor is asking for, what data you already have, and how your inventory and its evidence would look before the portal opens.
